THE EXPERIENCE

Evi’s event is one of the most typical Greek experiences you could have during your stay in Athens. Walk in a cozy, specially decorated house, where Evi lives with her lovely family.

Take part in a 2.5-hour interactive session, enjoying a wealth of the most representative traditional dishes of the country. Let your hostess teach you how to make your own authentic bread and offer you interesting tips about Greek cuisine.

THE HOST​

Evi could be regarded as a Greek local who has been taught the art of cooking and caring from her past generations.

She now lives with her family, in a cute house where she spends time preparing her culinary creations. Her passion for cooking, has bloomed since her early youth and she never stopped experimenting in the kitchen.

Being a social individual, Evi usually organizes meals or caterings for family friends or her husband’s colleagues.

APPETIZERS

Feta Cheese
Originating from the Greek mainland, Feta is a soft, white cheese made from sheep’s or goat’s milk.

Traditional Greek Fava with Caramelized Onions
Fava, one of the most typical Greek dishes is a purée made of yellow split peas.

Cheese Soufflé Pie
A unique pie made with crunchy phyllo baked in a wonderful fluffy cheese soufflé.

Village Bread
With a unique flavor and texture, this type of bread used to be prepared in outdoor wood fired ovens.

 

SALADS

Mixed Green Salad
This healthy dish features lettuce, cabbage, carrot, tomatoes, and cucumber smothered in vinaigrette sauce.

 

MAIN COURSES

Meatballs with Tzatziki Sauce
Probably one of the most popular Greek delicacies, Tzatziki Sauce is a simple appetizer mainly consisting of yoghurt, cucumber, garlic, and vinegar.

Pastitsio
This is one of the most challenging traditional Greek dishes, made of three basic layers: penne pasta, ground beef with tomato sauce and béchamel sauce.

 

DESSERTS

Semolina Halva with Rose – Cinnamon Spoon Sweets
One of the three main versions of halva, this local delicacy is spiced with cinnamon, as well as lemon and orange peel.

Greece has an abundance of winegrape varieties, many of which date back to Antiquity.

Greek Coffee, Loukoumi and Mastic Liqueur
The traditional Greek coffee, a strong brew, is served with foam on the top (kaimaki) and the grounds at the bottom of the cup.

 

THE PLACE

The area is called Ilioupoli and belongs to the central-southern part of Athens. Being 6 km away from the city center, the district lies at the foot of the popular Hymettus Mountain. Evi’s home is located at a residential and peaceful place, surrounded by green parks and numerous squares. 

The neighborhood is accessible by bus, taxi or your own vehicle and Evi’s experience could be a perfect activity for you to combine with a sunny day on the southern beaches.

 

BOOKING POLICIES

  • If the minimum number of participants is not completed up to 48 hours before a scheduled event, then the event may not take place and its bookings may not be able to be approved.

  • If a participant cancels their booking up to 48 hours before a scheduled event, they are entitled to receive a full refund. A later cancellation will not be refundable.
